Optics & Photonics International Exhibition -The comprehensive technological photonics exhibition. OPIE’14 will be Japan’s largest comprehensive technological photonics expo, consisting of the Laser, Lens Design and Manufacturing, Infrared-ultraviolet Applied Technology, Positioning, Medical & Imaging and Space & Astronomical exhibitions.
A key feature of OPIE is the focus placed on academic research and development, this is highlighted by close ties to The Laser Society of Japan, the organiser of the Laser exhibition.
As well as the exhibition, several international conference and photonics related seminars are held. The academic nature of this exhibition has resulted in an audience of attendees which include scientists, researchers and engineers for universities, manufacturers and research institutes.
Since 2012, 10 international photonics conferences (OPIC) have been held co-currently to OPIE. This combination has proved very successful in attracting both domestic and international exhibitors and even during the recession, OPIE has been able to steadily increase both exhibitor and visitor numbers.
OPIE 2013 attracted 12,000 visitors, a 20% improvement on the previous year. A further improvement is expected in 2014, as the exhibition is set to include a ‘Nano Micro Business Exhibition’, focusing on MEMS and laser micromachining.
OPIE 2014 is scheduled to take place between the 23rd – 25th of April at Pacifico, in the historic port city of Yokohama, which lies adjacent to Tokyo. As well as a 20% ‘first time exhibitor’ discount, there is a 5% ‘early bird’ discount for any potential exhibitors who register by the 4th of October 2013. As prime exhibition locations become reserved quickly, we recommend booking your booth at OPIE 2014 early to avoid disappointment.
